Dry skin is a very common skin complaint, with hundreds of thousands of people in the UK suffering from it every year. Common causes of dry skin include excessive bathing or bathing in water that is too hot, using too harsh soaps or the troubling cycle of dehydration, cold weather, wind and central heating. As we get older, the production of sebum decreases, which can also be a leading cause of dry skin.
Sunflower oil is a fantastic natural remedy for dry skin as its seeds are rich in Vitamin E which helps the skin retain moisture by trapping it inside skin cells.
Eczema is another common skin complaint, suffered by all ages but especially common in children. Common causes can include excessive washing of hands or the body, irritants which might include harsh laundry detergents, allergens, stress infection or even sweating.
Aloe Vera is a fantastic natural remedy for eczema. Green tea extract and black tea water is also proven to lighten dark spots and is gentler on more sensitive skin.
